March Ipsy + Extras

March's theme for Ipsy was Floral Fantasy. This was on of the better bags I've gotten in a while although I haven't tried any of the products yet. The bag is cute and the products are all decent sized.

The first item I got was a day cream from the company Acure. It has Gotu Kola stem cells which is interesting and is for normal to dry skin which is my skin lately so it should be good to try. It's a decent size too and smells pretty good. A 1.75 oz bottle is $16.99 making this sample worth $9.70.
The next item I got was a NYX butter lipstick in the colour Junk which I knew we were getting. People who wear lipsticks love these but I tend not to use lip products so it probably won't get much use. It looks really dark in the tube but when swatched it's too not bad. This is worth $6.00.
The next item is a mineral eyeshadow duo from Pixi by Petra. This is called Apricot Glow, which comes in a 6 pack when purchasing it, so this sample is worth $7.67. When getting an eyeshadow sample I prefer to get colours like this because I will use them, and being a small package it's good for putting in your purse for touchups.
Next I got two packages of hydro cool firming eye gels from the company skyn iceland. These are to revive your under eyes from puffiness and dark circles. I'm pretty excited to try these, under my eyes are pretty dark since I'm very pale making it difficult to fine an under eye concealer light enough to help that. These come in a 8 pack for $30.00 making this worth $7.50.
Last I got a ivory lace highlighter from the company Chella. I like highlighters but I'm unsure if this will be light enough for my skin tone but I'll try it. This is worth $18.00.
Since I knew I'd be cancelling Ipsy soon and I had a decent amount of points I also ordered two extras for 500 points each that I'm really happy with. I got a mini Urban Decay Perversion mascara. I have a full size of this and love it and have a few minis which I like to use for under eye and for build up so I got another. The other item I got is a fine liner brush from real techniques which I love since it's so tiny and perfect for lining under my lower lashes.

Minus the add-ons the total of this bag was worth $48.87 which is good, but not impressive compared to other things I have received. The bag was cute and I'll end up using most of the products.

March Glossybox

This months Glossybox didn't have a theme that I noticed. I got this box right before I went on my honeymoon so I opened it and forgot about it for a while. I haven't used any of the items since I forgot about it, but I like almost everything in it.

Glossybox is a monthly beauty box subscription where you get 5 deluxe sized sampled but I find many of them are usually full size. There are four options for subscribing - month to month, 3 month, 6 month and 1 year subscription. When I found they were coming back to Canada we got a coupon so I signed up for a 1 year subscription, which in product values paid for itself in about 3 months. If you are in the United States shipping is free, but in Canada the shipping is $5.00 a month which is typical for any of these boxes. If you want to sign up you can use my referral code: http://www.glossybox.com/referal?CI=MTMwNDg3

This is what was in March's Glossybox. It was in a normal pink box that we all love with black packaging inside.

The first item I got was a hair shine glaze serum from the company Ouidad. It is water-soluble which I think I'll like since I have thin blonde hair which gets weighed down very easily. This is a 2.5 oz bottle which is a great size to use and is worth $20.00.
The next item I got is a Shea body butter in coconut lime by Tree Hut. This smells amazing - I'm loving coconut scents for the summer. This is a 2 oz sample worth about $1.86, which is very affordable if I want to purchase afterwards.
The next item I got is from the company Modelco and is called more brows which is an eyebrow thickening gel in the colour light/medium. I'm not sure if I'll be using this item, I have very light eyebrows and I feel like it looks weird if they're darker. If I were to darken my brows I think this product would work well for that. This is worth $18.00.

The next item I got is a cheek and lip stain from the company bellapierre cosmetics in the colour pink. I don't use lip products very often but when I do this is the type of colour I would use so it will work as something I can use every once and a while. This is worth $19.99.

The last item I got is from Orogold Cosmetics. It is a 24K multi-vitamin day moisturizer, it has gold chunks in it. This is a very luxurious product which I would not purchase on a regular day so it's nice to get a sample to try it out, and they gave us two! This doesn't have a size on it, but a full sized item is $178.00 for a 1.7 oz jar.
This is a good box, which I don't think I've had a glossybox that I didn't think was good so it isn't a surprise!

February Ipsy

The theme for this months Ipsy was #IpsyLove being the month of Valentines day of course. After getting my Valentines themed Glossybox this bag was very underwhelming. I forgot to take a picture of everything together, here's a picture of the bag that it came in. It's one of my favourite bags that I've gotten from them, I'm obsessed with pink and it's a cute design.
The first item I got was an eyelash curler from the company Emite. A lot of people got damaged ones that were harmful to their lashes, mine was fine but I have no used it. I tend to use mascaras that curl so I don't have much use for a curler, but it's good to have just in case. They sell the curler on their website for $25.00 USD.

Next was a blush from ModelCo in the colour Cosmopolitan 01. I feel like I've gotten this before in a Glossybox or an Ipsy, or something very similar from this company. I like the colour, but I rarely use blush and have quite a few stocked up so it probably won't get used a lot. This is a full sized item however, and is worth $22.00 USD

Next was a lip stain from the company City Color in the colour Flirtini. It's supposed to be a combination of a lip stick and gloss. I'm happy with the colour so I might use it. This is another full sized item at $4.99.
Next was a volumizing spray from the company eva nye. This is a 1 oz sample worth $3.00 (a full sized product is 8 oz for $24.00) I like getting these samples of hair products, they are the perfect sized to be able to tell if you like them or not.
Last item was I got was a fine radiance face oil from the company Mitchell and Peach. This is a sample worth $23.13 (a full sized product is 20 mL worth $46.25). I haven't tried this yet but it seems like it'll be a good product to try.
Overall I liked this bag, however I think it missed the theme. Months ago I changed my profile to not include lip products because I tend not to use them, but I continue to get them every month. The total value of this bag was $78.12 which is  good value.

February Glossybox

The February glossybox has a Valentines Day theme, which comes with a themed box! It's very cute and I'm excited to use on the new Ikea shelves I got. I love the themed boxes, but the only problem with them is since I am in Canada I didn't get the box until well after Valentines day has passed. For most items that did not matter but the one would have been amazing to have for Valentines day.. but now I have it for next year.

Before I talk about what I got in the box, I should explain Glossybox is a monthly beauty box subscription where you get 5 deluxe sized sampled but I find many of them are usually full size.

So this is what was in my Glossybox this month! Look how pretty that box is! The inside was a pretty hot pink with the glossy symbol in white which is different then the normal ones, even the paper is cute with the hearts which you'll see in my product photos.

The first item that I got was a Julep nail polish in the colour Heartleigh. I saw that month a lot of people got multiples of these in their Julep boxes that month - which I did not get so I was jealous because I loved it, but now I have one! This polish has a lot of graffiti type bits in it that I love in these types of polishes, and adorable hearts. The value of this nail polish (being a full size) is $14.00.

The next item I got is a bio-cleansing conditioner by the company Unwash. I haven't used this yet, it is supposed to be a more natural way to wash your hair then typical shampoos and conditioners. I've been trying to grow my hair lately so this will be a good product to see if it'll help with that process, especially since it's such a large sample. This is a 2.5 fl oz sample which is worth $6.67 since a full size (13.5 oz) is $30.00.

The next item is a lip butter from the company Royal Apothic. It came in a cute little pink box and the packaging of the gloss itself is different and cute. I prefer my lip products in a tube that I can throw in a little bag in my purse or in my makeup organizers, but this is a different type of container that would look nice left out of an organizer. This is a full sized item (0.12 oz) worth $14.00.

The next item is a mascara from the company Jelly Pong Pong. I have gotten a few lip products from this company but never anything else. I have quite a few mascara samples right now to get through before trying this one, but it sounds like it should be good and it's a full size worth $22.00.

The last item I got is another item from Rituals Cosmetics and it's a foaming shower gel. This is another full sized item (6.7 fl oz) worth $15.00. I have used this a few times, it comes out of the bottle as a gel and turns into a foam, and it smells good.

Overall I am happy with this Glossybox, I enjoyed the theme, the different packaging and the products. The total value of this one is $71.67 USD, which around the time I got it would have been closer to $90.00 CAD since the exchange was so low that month.

January Glossybox

The good thing about being behind on these posts is that I have had the chance to use a large amount of these items since getting them. January is my third Glossybox since coming back to Canada. This month the box was back to the regular glossy pink which I have so many of, but I don't mind I find them useful around the house. This is what I got in this box:

First impressions this is the type of box I prefer to get since it has a variety of items. This is the reason I was so excited when I saw Glossybox was coming back since I find I get bored of getting all makeup items all the time.

The first item I got was a face toner from the company Kueshi. I was about to run out of my toner when I received this, which always seems to happen when I get these boxes. I have pretty sensitive skin and the toners that I tend to use I find are always pretty strong, which this one is not. This is a full sized item (6.76 fl oz) worth a total of $13.30. I have almost used the whole bottle by now since I was travelling and am loving it. It doesn't have any burning sensation when using it so it is more moisturizing then the typical drying toner, it smells nice and it works well taking off any makeup residue that happens to be left after everything else. I would purchase this again.

The next item I got is from the company Vichy which I see all over the place but have never purchased a product from. This is a 3-in-1 one step cleanser which is supposed to be a cleanser, toner and makeup remover in one. I have not gotten the chance to use this one yet, but I'm assuming I'm going to like it. This is a 1 fl oz sample which would be valued at $2.91 - a full size is 6.7 fl oz and $19.50.

The third item is another face item, a serum by the company Skin&Co Roma. This is a brightening serum, which is collagen-boosting and softening. This sample is 0.17 fl oz (a full size is 1 fl oz for $47.00), making the sample worth $7.99. I haven't used this item yet since I'm working on a few other serums that I have from other things, and they take a long time to use up. I am excited to use this though since it is a pretty large size.

The next item is a black eye pencil from the company Lollipops. It is a retractable pencil with a smudger on the end. I have a ton of black eye liners but I use them daily so I'm okay with that. This is a full sized item worth $17.70.

The last item I got is a flat eye shadow brush from the company Teeez Trendy Cosmetics. I am starting to increase my brush collection from the elf once that I own so it's nice to get one. I got this the same time as an Elizabeth Mott one from Ipsy - and so far I'm liking that one better then this one. This is a full size worth $23.50. It's supposed to be natural hair and very soft, but I don't find it that soft. It's very cute though and usable so it'll get use.

The total value of this box was $65.40 USD, with exchange would be closer to $80.00 Canadian or higher since items tend to cost more here than they do in the US. I think the theme of this month was skin care since it is winter and the new year. Since it has been such a cold long winter which has dried my skin completely I liked this box.

Julep Gem Collection 2014

I ordered the 2014 Gem Collection from Julep in the December Secret store for $34.00. When I went to the Toronto Julep meet up I saw a few of these colours that I fell in love with and was keeping an eye on the collection but I just could not spend $98.00 on it. It was on sale for a while for $49.00 and I was sad I missed that but then it went for $34.00 so I was very excited! The only thing is one of the polishes was replaced with another one since it's been sold out, but I contacted customer service about this which resulted in another polish of my choice so it worked out even though the sold out colour was very pretty. This collection came in a nice box with a magnetic close on the front with a removable foam insert to hold 12 polishes.
The gem collection is full of sparkling polishes all of which are 5-free with oxygen technology. I'm in love with them all!
