March Ipsy + Extras

March's theme for Ipsy was Floral Fantasy. This was on of the better bags I've gotten in a while although I haven't tried any of the products yet. The bag is cute and the products are all decent sized.

The first item I got was a day cream from the company Acure. It has Gotu Kola stem cells which is interesting and is for normal to dry skin which is my skin lately so it should be good to try. It's a decent size too and smells pretty good. A 1.75 oz bottle is $16.99 making this sample worth $9.70.
The next item I got was a NYX butter lipstick in the colour Junk which I knew we were getting. People who wear lipsticks love these but I tend not to use lip products so it probably won't get much use. It looks really dark in the tube but when swatched it's too not bad. This is worth $6.00.
The next item is a mineral eyeshadow duo from Pixi by Petra. This is called Apricot Glow, which comes in a 6 pack when purchasing it, so this sample is worth $7.67. When getting an eyeshadow sample I prefer to get colours like this because I will use them, and being a small package it's good for putting in your purse for touchups.
Next I got two packages of hydro cool firming eye gels from the company skyn iceland. These are to revive your under eyes from puffiness and dark circles. I'm pretty excited to try these, under my eyes are pretty dark since I'm very pale making it difficult to fine an under eye concealer light enough to help that. These come in a 8 pack for $30.00 making this worth $7.50.
Last I got a ivory lace highlighter from the company Chella. I like highlighters but I'm unsure if this will be light enough for my skin tone but I'll try it. This is worth $18.00.
Since I knew I'd be cancelling Ipsy soon and I had a decent amount of points I also ordered two extras for 500 points each that I'm really happy with. I got a mini Urban Decay Perversion mascara. I have a full size of this and love it and have a few minis which I like to use for under eye and for build up so I got another. The other item I got is a fine liner brush from real techniques which I love since it's so tiny and perfect for lining under my lower lashes.

Minus the add-ons the total of this bag was worth $48.87 which is good, but not impressive compared to other things I have received. The bag was cute and I'll end up using most of the products.

February Ipsy

The theme for this months Ipsy was #IpsyLove being the month of Valentines day of course. After getting my Valentines themed Glossybox this bag was very underwhelming. I forgot to take a picture of everything together, here's a picture of the bag that it came in. It's one of my favourite bags that I've gotten from them, I'm obsessed with pink and it's a cute design.
The first item I got was an eyelash curler from the company Emite. A lot of people got damaged ones that were harmful to their lashes, mine was fine but I have no used it. I tend to use mascaras that curl so I don't have much use for a curler, but it's good to have just in case. They sell the curler on their website for $25.00 USD.

Next was a blush from ModelCo in the colour Cosmopolitan 01. I feel like I've gotten this before in a Glossybox or an Ipsy, or something very similar from this company. I like the colour, but I rarely use blush and have quite a few stocked up so it probably won't get used a lot. This is a full sized item however, and is worth $22.00 USD

Next was a lip stain from the company City Color in the colour Flirtini. It's supposed to be a combination of a lip stick and gloss. I'm happy with the colour so I might use it. This is another full sized item at $4.99.
Next was a volumizing spray from the company eva nye. This is a 1 oz sample worth $3.00 (a full sized product is 8 oz for $24.00) I like getting these samples of hair products, they are the perfect sized to be able to tell if you like them or not.
Last item was I got was a fine radiance face oil from the company Mitchell and Peach. This is a sample worth $23.13 (a full sized product is 20 mL worth $46.25). I haven't tried this yet but it seems like it'll be a good product to try.
Overall I liked this bag, however I think it missed the theme. Months ago I changed my profile to not include lip products because I tend not to use them, but I continue to get them every month. The total value of this bag was $78.12 which is  good value.

January Ipsy

This months theme for ipsy was Fresh Start. The only item I knew about this months bag was the eye shadow which I wasn't overly exicted for but it ended up being a decent bag.
Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that costs $10.00 a month, but being in Canada I have to pay for shipping which is another 4.95 USD so you'll pay the difference of exchange rate. If you want to subscribe you can do so here: http://www.ipsy.com/r/3kg1
This is what was in this months bag.
The first item I got was the Pacifica eyeshadow that I already knew about in the colour ethereal which is a nice brown colour that is something I use on a daily basis but I don't find these shadows work well for me. They aren't sold individual they are sold in 4s for $14.00 making is $3.50 per shadow.
The next item I got was a nail polish by the company Probelle. I was excited to get a nail polish since I promised not to buy any polishes for the year of 2015 since I have soo many already. This is in a pretty blue called into the blue and worth $6.00.
The next item was an eyeshadow brush by Elizabeth Mott. It is really pretty pink and I've used it and actually love it. It is worth $9.99.
The next item is a mechanical eye pencil in the colour storm which is a slate gray by the company Hikari. This is worth $13.00. It is a nice colour but doesn't have a lot of pay off, I'm sure I can make use of it though since I am in love with eyeliner lately.

The last item I got is a lip balm by the company malin + goetz. This is worth $12.00. This is the type of product I expect in a January box being winter and it's perfect for dry lips in the winter and it smells really good.
The overall value of this box was $44.49 which is good since I paid around 17 after shipping and exchange rate. I'm not sure if it's because I got Glossybox again or what but I've been less impressed with these bags lately. I do love the shadow brush, the lip balm and the polish but the other two just aren't that impressive. Three items out of five though is pretty good so I'm happy with it, and the bag this month was cute.

December Ipsy

The theme of this months Ipsy was Thinking of You. The sneak peak I saw for this months was that every subscriber would be receiving a Tarte deluxe lights, camera, lashes 4 in 1 mascara and a NYX Butter Lip Balm. Both of these are awesome products so even if the rest of the items weren't anything I wanted I knew this would be a good month.

Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that costs $10.00 a month, but being in Canada I have to pay for shipping which is another 4.95 USD so you'll pay the difference of exchange rate. If you want to subscribe you can do so here: http://www.ipsy.com/r/3kg1

The first item I got was the NYX Butter Lip Balm in Marshmallow. This is one of the items I already knew I was getting and of all the colours that there were I'm glad I got this one since it's a pure nude and I tend to avoid coloured lip products. This is a full size item valued at $4.00.
The next item is the Tarte deluxe lights, camera, lashes mascara. This is the other item I knew about and is a mini sized which is sold at sephora for $12.00. I've heard a lot of good things about this product so I'm very excited to try it, but have a lot of other mascaras to use before I open this one.

The next item is a mineral eye polish by the brand Cailyn in the shade Orchid. This is a full sized item worth $15.00 and is in a nice colour that I could use daily. I don't normally use mineral polish because it's so much more difficult but this comes with a little brush in the package that allows me to use it without any mess very easily and I love the effect it has.
The next item I got is a product from sexy hair called 450 blow out which is a heat defense blow out spray. I've been avoiding blow drying my hair since I'm trying to grow it but this will be useful the times that I do. This is a 50 mL sample worth approximately $7.58 since a full size is $18.95.
The last item I got is a facial cleanser from the company Beauty Without Cruelty which is a vegan soap free cleanser. I'm starting to get overwhelmed with the amount of cleansers I'm getting but this is a good sized sample and sounds like a good product so I will use it. The value is approximately $2.81 for 2 fl oz.
The bag that this one came in is really cute also, it's a different shape then the normal flat ones and I think it'll be more useful to use.
The total value of this bag was $41.39 which is the normal value for these bags I've been getting and is a good enough value for me to continue to subscribe. I will use all these items including the bag so I'm very happy with this months.

November Ipsy

The theme of this months Ipsy was Girl Meets Glitter. I was pretty excited because I'm loving glitter nail polish and glitter eye liner lately. When I got the early look at my glam room I don't think I was excited as I was hoping I would be.
Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that costs $10.00 a month, but being in Canada I have to pay for shipping which is another 4.95 USD so you'll pay the difference of exchange rate. If you want to subscribe you can do so here: http://www.ipsy.com/r/3kg1

This is what I got in this months bag, I'm still unsure how I feel about it. I like most of the products, but looking at what else was available I think I would have preferred some of the other items. The bag this month is really cute though!

The first item I got was a lip paint by J Cat in the colour red potion. This is one item that I would not use, and I'm confused why I keep getting lip colours when I looked back on my survey lip stick is basically the only thing I don't have checked off. This is however a full sized item worth $4.99
The next item I got was a Elizabeth Mott you're so fine eyeliner in the colour Glitterati. This is the item I was most excited about in the bag since I use black eyeliner daily and have been adding a 2nd coat of a glitter over it every now and then lately. This isn't as powerful of a glitter as when I do that, but it's a nice subtle glitter within the black eyeliner. This item is full sized I believe and retails for $17.99.
The third item was a hairspray by Marc Anthony with oil of morocco argan oil. I always love hair products by March Anthony and usually have a problem with hairsprays because they smell bad, but this smells really good. This item is not a full sized, it is worth about $1.38.
The next item I got was an eye base from be a bombshell in the colour submissive. It is fairly dark but feels really nice and I think will work well. I haven't tried it yet but I think I might get some good use out of it. This item is worth $14.00.
The last item I got is a highlighter by temptu. It is a tiny tiny sample worth about $2.75. I'm pretty pale so I usually don't use highlighters and those types of products but this is a very light colour so I might try it out.
The bag this month is really cute and I think I will be able to use it when I go out or for organizing purposes in my purse. It was made with Forever 21 for Ipsy this month.

The total for this bag was 41.11 which is pretty good. Overall I'm okay with this bag, I'll use a few of the things I got so it's good. I think since I've gotten so many at this point that they just seem less exciting unless there is something amazing in them.

October Ipsy

This months Ipsy theme was Beauty Candy. Again this month they allowed you to share a link on Facebook to get early access to your glamroom, even though it didn't work at first. The email I got spoiling an item this month showed a variety of eye products that you could be getting in this bag. These items were mostly mascaras which I was hoping I did not get even though I use a lot of this product, I just have so many of them at the moment.
Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that costs $10.00 a month, but being in Canada I have to pay for shipping which is another 4.95 USD so you'll pay the difference of exchange rate. If you want to subscribe you can do so here: http://www.ipsy.com/r/3kg1

From the items I got I'm a little unsure why the theme was Beauty Candy, other than the bag and the lip gloss. However, it's a good variety of items which ipsy has been good at lately - three makeup products, a lotion and an exfoliant.

The first item I got is a purifying exfoliant from the company epice. I really like the size it came in since it's enough to be able to use quite a few times in order to tell if it's a good fit for your skin. I was looking at the website it says this company was founded by a dermatologist who has a degree in biochemisty (yey thats what I have) and seems to have a lot of experience in skin care products. The price of a full size is $32.00 so the sample size of 30 mL has a value of $9.70.
The second item I got is a pair of fake eyelashes with the glue included. They are from the company Kiss and are called iENVY Beyond Naturale 01 - KPE33. These are demi wispies which seem to be the most popular type of fake lashes I've been seeing online lately. I don't normally use fake lashes but I might try these ones out since they look more natural then most lashes I've received. The value of these lashes are apparently around $5.00 at walmart.
The next item I got was is a body butter from the company Ayres in the scent Patagonia with essential oils of jasmine and rosemary. It doesn't smell that great but it's supposed to work really well. A full size of this item is $28.00 making the sample of 28 g worth $4.15.
Another item I got was a lip gloss from Starlooks. I've gotten a few Starlooks items from ipsy and some are really good and others aren't. This one seems to be one of the best items I've gotten from them so far. The lip gloss is called Guilty Pleasure and smells really good and is a good shade of pink for my pale skin. This is about half the size of a full sized item making it worth about $6.00.
The last product I got is a mineral eye shadow from Mica cosmetics. I've gotten a few of these before which I really haven't used since I find mineral eye shadows so messy to use. This one is a shimmer powder in the shade harliquin which is a greenish blue shade. I've recently gotten some better eyeshadow primers so I might start using these. The value of this product is $14.95.
The overall value of the bag this month was only $39.80 pretax which isn't the highest value bag I've gotten but it was a good one. I really liked the bag itself and would use most of the products.
