Julep Trick or Treat Mystery Box

I wasn't going to order this one since everyone seems to dislike the mystery boxes lately. Since the price went from 19.99 to 24.99 I stopped buying these, but when I can get a coupon I tend to buy them. I was able to use a coupon for $5.00 off so I added the middle sized mystery add-on. I didn't want the small one since it's usually one polish and I got the large one last time which included a makeup item, so I was hoping for 3 nail polishes extra which seems to be what the middle one is most of the time. This is what I got in my box:
I read a lot of complaints about this box like normal, but I'm happy with mine. I got quite a few polishes and I would use them all for something, and a few products.

The box which cost 24.99 contained 4 polishes and 3 products.
The first product I got was the Vanish Cuticle Softener and Remover, which I got in the last box. I was pretty excited actually because I saw this on sale on the website before and was going to buy more because I love it, so now I have two! This costs $18.00 or $14.40 for mavens.
The next product I got was Mint Condition Pedi Cream. Being winter this type of product is amazing since my feet get really dry and I like to pack on lotion before bed. I've already used this a couple times and I love it. This is $20.00 on the website or $16.00 for mavens.
The last product I got was Mighty Nail and Cuticle Serum. This is supposed to be used twice a day to help dry and brittle nails, which is so helpful for me since I have very thin nails and again being winter dryness is a factor. This is $28.00 online or $22.40 for mavens.
I got four polishes in the box which were:
Lacey from the Bombshell collection. It s a midnight blue with a purple shimmer and has been on my wish list for a while so I was happy to see this one.
Beatrix from the Bombshell collection. It is coal black with multidimensional glitter. This is the one that I saw in the spoilers that made me buy the box since I'm loving glitters lately.
Veronica from the Classic with a Twist collection. It is a modern mauve creme and veryy pretty.
Chloe from the It Girl collection. This is a warm cocoa frost, which is a great fall/winter colour for me.
All of the polishes are $14.00 on the website or $11.20 for mavens, except Veronica which is on sale for $4.99.
This makes the value of the actual box $122 or $91.39 with discounts.
The add on was three polishes like I hoped and were:
Payton from the Bombshell collection. It is a green cream polish, I already have this one but have used a lot for nail art.
Millie from the BoHo Glam collection. It is a vintage indigo cream.
Roc Solid from the It Girl collection. It is a vintage military cream.
All of these polishes are $14.00 online or $11.20 for mavens. This makes the add on worth $42.00 or $33.60 with discounts.

I am really happy with this box for $30.00 I got a total of $164 of items or $124.99 with discounts. I will use everything I got.

Glossybox CANADA!

So just over a year ago before I was subscribed to Ipsy I was subscribed to GlossyBox which was $21.00 a month. This subscription was amazing, and it seemed everytime I ran out of something I would get it in my box that month randomly (mascara, bodywash, leave in conditioner, black eyeliner), they basically have everything. Even though I loved this box so much I was always seeing youtube unboxings for the american versions and was so jealous of the items they got. So the other night I was checking my email and got this:

Most exciting day everrr! The only issue is like everything else from the states this is $5.00 shipping per box. Today they emailed out coupon codes for "up to 50% off" but from what I've read basically everyone got 10% off, which is what I got. I also had a chunk of money in my paypal from doing online surveys so I used this code plus my paypal funds to get a years worth for about $18.00 per month. I am veryy excited! The only thing I'm a little upset about is that when I had glossybox before I had earned a lot of points towards a free box and so far I haven't heard anything about getting those back.

If anyone wants to sign up please use my referral link! http://www.glossybox.com/referal?CI=MTMwNDg3

The prices are 21.00 a month, 60.00 for three months, 115.00 for six months and 220.00 for a year.

September and October Barkbox

My barkbox for the month of September took a while to get to me. It ships on the 15th and I usually have it by the 18th at the latest, but for some reason it didn't come until the 30th. My dog was getting anxious waiting, he thought the mail was for him everyday haha. When it did come it did not disappoint. Septembers theme was homecoming, and these themes are just so cute!

This box had two toys and 3 treats.
The two toys were:
PetProjekt Skrubal Football made from 100% natural rubber. This item is worth $14 in their store. My dog doesn't pay a lot of attention to this toy inside, but its a great toy to play fetch with outside.
Safemade Pet Pawxford Pennant. This toy has a squeaker and some scrunchy sounding stuff in it which he loves. This one is $7 from their store. Here's a picture of him with both toys.. even though he's had them for over a month he's still obsessed with the pawxford one.
The treats in this box were:
Barkworthies Sweet Potato Steak Fries which are 100% sweet potato. These are $8 in the store.
Etta Says Duck Chew which is $4 in the store.
Petsafe Indigo Smokehouse Strips in Bacon which is 100% pork. These are $7 in the store and my dog lovessss these. We always give him a tiny piece of bacon on his birthday and holidays, so he was obsessed. The box was on the dining room table with the package inside and he would just stand and look at the box.

Octobers box got to me in the timing it normally does, so he got two boxes fairly close together. The theme for this one was Halloween obviously.
This one also had two toys and three treats.
The toys in this box were:
Plus Puppies Squeaker Mat Mummy. This mummy toy has 16 squeakers in it and has double stitching so it lasts longer. This is the most amazing but annoying toy ever. This is valued $15 in the store.
Petprojekt Squeeki Skull which is worth $8 in the store. This one looks kinda spooky and is great for halloween.

The treats in this box were:
Bakers Best Autumn Harvest Treats which are liver, italian olive oil and oat flour. These ones are made in Canada! They smell horrible but are good for your dog and mine loves them. These are $10 in the store.
Heartland Permium Weasand Strips made from 100% cow. This one is $3 in the store.
Max and Ruffys Pumpkin Patch Bites which are organic. I've always wanted to find pumpkin treats since they are good to sooth their tummies when they don't feel well. These ones are $4 in the store.

In between the two months I was sent an email to give three people a free box they just had to pay shipping. It said it was for being a loyal customer..so I thought that was cool to share with some other dog owners I know and hopefully they would sign up afterwards seeing how amazing it was :)

Obviously I am happy with both these months boxes, I don't think I've ever had an item in these boxes that I didn't like. One of the boxes I got a card that says if you have a picky dog who didn't like an item just to email them and they'll find something they like. They have amazing customer service but I'm lucky my dog is half lab so he never snubs any food!

October Ipsy

This months Ipsy theme was Beauty Candy. Again this month they allowed you to share a link on Facebook to get early access to your glamroom, even though it didn't work at first. The email I got spoiling an item this month showed a variety of eye products that you could be getting in this bag. These items were mostly mascaras which I was hoping I did not get even though I use a lot of this product, I just have so many of them at the moment.
Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that costs $10.00 a month, but being in Canada I have to pay for shipping which is another 4.95 USD so you'll pay the difference of exchange rate. If you want to subscribe you can do so here: http://www.ipsy.com/r/3kg1

From the items I got I'm a little unsure why the theme was Beauty Candy, other than the bag and the lip gloss. However, it's a good variety of items which ipsy has been good at lately - three makeup products, a lotion and an exfoliant.

The first item I got is a purifying exfoliant from the company epice. I really like the size it came in since it's enough to be able to use quite a few times in order to tell if it's a good fit for your skin. I was looking at the website it says this company was founded by a dermatologist who has a degree in biochemisty (yey thats what I have) and seems to have a lot of experience in skin care products. The price of a full size is $32.00 so the sample size of 30 mL has a value of $9.70.
The second item I got is a pair of fake eyelashes with the glue included. They are from the company Kiss and are called iENVY Beyond Naturale 01 - KPE33. These are demi wispies which seem to be the most popular type of fake lashes I've been seeing online lately. I don't normally use fake lashes but I might try these ones out since they look more natural then most lashes I've received. The value of these lashes are apparently around $5.00 at walmart.
The next item I got was is a body butter from the company Ayres in the scent Patagonia with essential oils of jasmine and rosemary. It doesn't smell that great but it's supposed to work really well. A full size of this item is $28.00 making the sample of 28 g worth $4.15.
Another item I got was a lip gloss from Starlooks. I've gotten a few Starlooks items from ipsy and some are really good and others aren't. This one seems to be one of the best items I've gotten from them so far. The lip gloss is called Guilty Pleasure and smells really good and is a good shade of pink for my pale skin. This is about half the size of a full sized item making it worth about $6.00.
The last product I got is a mineral eye shadow from Mica cosmetics. I've gotten a few of these before which I really haven't used since I find mineral eye shadows so messy to use. This one is a shimmer powder in the shade harliquin which is a greenish blue shade. I've recently gotten some better eyeshadow primers so I might start using these. The value of this product is $14.95.
The overall value of the bag this month was only $39.80 pretax which isn't the highest value bag I've gotten but it was a good one. I really liked the bag itself and would use most of the products.

Julep Jewel Heist Mystery Box

On September 8th I got an email from Julep (and also saw on facebook) they were doing a mystery box called Jewel Heist that month that would be giving the entire birthstone collection to 50 people and a pair of earrings to one person. I used to love their mystery boxes but was hearing a lot of bad things lately so I was avoiding them, but I'm in love with sparkles lately so this seemed like a box I would enjoy, and I found a $10.00 off coupon making the box only $14.99 for what they claim to be $100+ value. Since I had saved that $10, I added the large add-on for $15.00.

Since I live in Canada anything from Julep seems to take ages to get to me. I ordered it September 8th, got shipping conformation September 10th, and received the box October 2nd.
This is what came in my box, for $30.00 I think it's not bad at all. I saw a lot of complaints about this box (like all boxes) but I think I'm happy with mine. The only thing I'm upset about is that I was expecting more jewel-tone nail polishes. If I hadn't of gotten the add-on I wouldn't have gotten any sparkles at all.

So the actual box came with these items:
I think if I had of paid the $24.99 for these items I wouldn't have been happy even though the value is there. Here are picture of the individual items I got and their values.

The add-on came with these items:

First item is the Moisture Mask Trio which contains three masks, one for hands, feet and nails. This item is $20.00 or on sale at the moment for $14.99.
The next item is the Blank Canvas plumping lip primer. I'm not a lipstick person so this doesn't interest me that much, but I tried it out and it made my lips tingle so I took it off. I'm assuming that's the lip plumping properties which some people may like. This item is $22.00 or for mavens $17.60.
The one product in the box that I'm excited for is Vanish cuticle softener and remover. I've already used this once and I love it. I don't need it for cuticle removal much, but it takes stains off of nails really well. This is exciting for me since my nails seem to stain no matter how much base coat I use. This item is $18.00 but on sale right now for $9.99.
Finally I got three nail polishes. These were Alfre, Lynn and Nadia. All nail polishes are $14.00 or $11.20 for mavens, but Nadia is on sale right now for $4.99. Lynn and Alfre are both pretty colours. These are the first three polishes below. The add-on came with two polishes which are the two on the right, Taryn and Dawn. Both of these are $14.00 or $11.20 maven price. I don't ever use yellow as an all over nail colour but they are good to have for nail art. Taryn however, may be one of my new favourite colours. I'm in love with these blue glitters.
With the two nail polishes I also got the Sweep Eyeshadow Palette: Neutrals which I love. This palette is $24.00 or $19.20 maven price. I have blue eyes so these are the eyeshadow colours I use on a daily basis, and it's in a cute small package which is perfect to fit in a travel makeup bag.

The total price for the box was $102.00 or with sales and maven prices $69.97. The add-on was $52.00 or maven prices $41.60. This is a total value of $154.00 or with sales and maven discounts $111.57. Considering I paid around $30.00 this is a pretty amazing value since I will use basically everything I got.

September Ipsy

This months Ipsy theme was Street Style. On the Facebook group most of the items were spoiled before the bags came out, also you could share a link on your Facebook to get early access to your glam room. Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that costs $10.00 a month, but being in Canada I have to pay for shipping which is another 4.95 USD so you'll pay the difference of exchange rate. If you want to subscribe you can do so here: http://www.ipsy.com/r/3kg1
This is what came in this months bag. I'm mostly happy with this bag.
The first item I got is called Caviar CC Cream 10-in-1 Complete Correction by Alterna Haircare. I'm pretty excited for this item, it is a leave in "hair perfector" that you use after washing your hair. It says that it perfects your hair in 10 ways: moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, UV protection, manageability, strength, anti-breakage, heat protection and light hold. This product sold at Sephora for $31.00 for 2.5 oz and this is 0.85 oz making the sample worth $10.54.

The next item I got is a nail polish by Pacifica in the colour Red Red Wine. These nail polishes are 7 Free meaning they are made without many of the chemicals that are typically used in cosmetics and have a vegan brush. This is a full sized item worth $9.00 on the Pacifica website.

The next item I got is a moisturizing cream face cleanser by Nourish Organic. This is fragrance free, alcohol free, gluten free and vegan. It is made with aloe vera, cucumber and watercress which I'm excited for since I have pretty sensitive skin so I should be using more products like this. You can buy this item in Canada from Well.ca for $15.99 for a 177 mL bottle making the 30 mL sample worth $2.71.

The next item is Art Touch Tinted Lip Gloss from Cailyn. The one I got is in the colour Love Affair which is a darker red, I wish I got the other colour which is more of a pink but it's still nice. This item is a full sized item of 4 mL which is sold on the Cailyn website for $19.00.

The last item I got was a double sided Infinity Shadow/Crease Brush from Crown Brush. This brush is number C476 which is $17.50 online. I have recently been loving new brushes so I'm excited for this one.

The bag this month was nice, it's a little bigger than they normally are and looks nice.
I really liked this months bag. It had a hair product, nail polish, face cleanser, lip gloss and a brush which is a wide variety is items. Also the overall value is $58.75 which is great for the $15.00 I paid for it, and three of the five items were full size.
